Shisan # 1: Winter's End

snow melting
starlings take a break
from preening

worn denim and old boots
adding layers for the cold

utility bills
on top of the pile
my favorite hat

clothes make the man
casual everyday

cherry blossoms
to match my mood
world wide web

daylight savings time
spring passes so quickly

the memory
of our first kiss
misty now

she came to my party
still she hasn't left

cruising the loop
with the windows down
muggy and hot

that shit-box yellow dodge
t-boned on payne avenue

harvest festival
each year new faces under
the waning moon

even now with eyes closed
i see the autumn light
